"North Wind Challenge is one of my favourite rides. The trails are challenging but safe. We ride a beautiful variety of terrain. There will be rough, rocky, winding bush trails, lush fields, trails through pastures, some two track work, some roads with both gravel and hardtop, as well as some soft, spongy areas. The trail winds along a beautiful river with an old style wooden bridge. This area doesn’t seem to have much flat land, so you find yourself travelling on a lot of hills, some steep, but most rolling. This is one of the rides that inspire you to take a second from time to time to admire the spectacular view. There is always plenty of water available and the trails are well marked and easy to follow. The trails challenge you, as a championship ride should, and is a good test of horse and rider skill and conditioning."

"Tom and I both agree this is our favorite ride! We love the fact that it offers so many types of terrain and experiences, from the wild cattle pasture to the rolling hills and back of beyond spots where we ride past the old heritage buildings tucked away in seemingly out of nowhere places. Tom especially loves the place where we ride along that road past the river and then over the bridge, it's his favourite part. I especially enjoy the long climbs in the bush and of course the fact that the course is au natural' and not mowed and polished, makes it a true endurance ride. The hospitality of this ride is the best we've experienced. Even just the camping is great. The tame wild turkeys hanging out in the paddock with our horses when we got up in the morning was something we really liked. The vet check, at least for us, seems to be a great place. Lots of room, a friendly place, and grazing for the horses. The locals who offer up their places for pit stops and water are all wonderful. They are so welcoming and interested, just an awesome ride. We are excited about the 2006 Canadian Championships. "
